My art club, the Don Valley Art Club, had a community day along with our spring art show at Todmorden Mills in Toronto. To celebrate Canada’s 150, we gathered and painted for the public to see us in action. We had a group life sketching, with 20 minute poses, as well as a long pose figure painting group. There was a still life set up and art making materials were available for the public. And there were many plain air artists outside in the blustery wind, painting the museum and its wilderness ravine surroundings, so quiet and different than the bustle of the city, only a steep climb away. We were especially glad the sun actually came out, after a week of heavy rain, and that it didn’t snow, as was forecast.
